Henry Murphy currently services the auditing, accounting, and tax needs of organizations with annual revenue from zero to over twenty million dollars. These include services (professional practices, automotive, and engineering), telecommunications, manufacturing, construction (developers and builders), real estate management, retailing, and non-profits (trade associations, group homes, social service organizations and others). Henry also services individuals, estates, and trusts in the areas of personal financial planning, investment management, tax planning, tax return preparation, and representation before various taxing and auditing authorities.
HISTORY, EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Henry Murphy began his professional accounting career in 1975 as a staff auditor with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co., then the world’s largest CPA firm. Three years later he joined Control Data Corporation as a consulting financial systems analyst, and, in 1981, left to establish his own CPA practice. For several years in the late 1990’s, associates served his clients when he served as acting tax manager of a multinational corporation with revenues in excess of $700 million. Henry graduated from The Lawrenceville School in 1970, received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1974, and his MBA from Rutgers University in 1976. He holds a certificate in data processing and has done graduate work in management information systems at the NJ Institute of Technology. He has served on the adjunct accounting faculty of Mercer County Community College and Middlesex County College and was the recipient of the prestigious Rutgers Excellence Fellowship, a research fellowship to study accounting and finance at the doctoral level at Rutgers University in Newark. He is active in a number of local civic and charitable organizations.
